ALLERGY ALERT - Undeclared milk protein in various imported products
OTTAWA, August 8, 2006 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning people with allergies to milk protein not to consume the various imported products described below. The affected products contain milk protein which is not declared on the label.
This is an ongoing investigation. The CFIA is working with Canadian importers to identify all affected products that were distributed in Canada. Additional allergy alerts could be issued as a result.
The following products, imported from Malaysia, Singapore and Taiwan, are affected by this alert.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of these products.
Consumption of these products may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk protein.
The importers are voluntarily recalling the affected products from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall. |
