Ensuring competing horses have their 'passports'
Source: New Straits Times
KUALA LUMPUR: Horses need 'passports' when they travel from one country to another. The passports carry the markings of the horse and history of its health, including vaccinations it had received.
MASkargo, which is flying in the horses competing in the five-day FEI World Cup Jumping Final here beginning Wednesday, has to ensure all 73 horses from 33 countries have valid travel documents.
MASkargo’s Animal Hotel resident manager Shamsul Akmal Shamsudin said the first batch of eight horses arrived at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Thursday. The others would arrive in batches by today.
MASkargo, the cargo handling division of Malaysia Airlines, flew in the horses from Amsterdam via Dubai.
One of the most prestigious events in equestrian sports, the FEI World Cup is held for the first time in Asia. |
