| Online data bank for pet microchip. GREAT IDEA... we may consider that. So far how you keep your pet's microchip ID? |

hi Dr Tan,
i did register my dog a yr back with an organization who provide identification service, however i think they re no more active.. i did saw another organization just come up the service but i guess is much better if online vet can centralize and link to each other then only microchip will b more useful ..
i still think microchip is useful beside can found lost pet and also can identify the irresponsible pet owners who let their dogs roam freely.. myself hope one day all dogs hv to b microchip ... |

I see. Perhaps it should be part of the site development plan in future.
As long as there is no copyright or legal issues involved -as to who has the full access right of the ID - the chip manufacturer or the owner or the third party... then the setting up of a centralize microchip ID database might be possible. But I doubt the chip manufacturer will be so kind to share their ID database. Voluntary input of the IDs from the pet owners is great, but then not all pet owners will comply. Either ways, the ID database records may not be complete.
Anyway, it's REALLY a great input shyeow2 :-) |
