Hi ,
I need urgent help regarding new born Hamster about 3 hours Old now and Hamster Mother just died after give birth to 3 little baby hamster..
What should I do now without Hamster mother....damn urgent for me because don't know what to do now... :( how to feed 3 hours old baby hamster |

Oh no...i hope that the hamsters are still alive. You got a tough job here. You can try to use puppy milk replacers for feeding. Start with a diluted formulation like 1:1 proportion and then slowly increase to maybe 2:1 (2 part milk powder to 1 part water) and then to 3:1. You may need to feed it every 45-60 minutes from early morning (7am) maybe to late night (9pm) and then maybe every 2 hours after that. You can try using a small paintbrush or toothpick to feed the baby hamsters. Baby hamsters wean around 1 month time. They start eating some solids around 7-10 days old. As they go older, you can feed them less frequent. And don't forget to stimulate urination and defecation after each meal by gently stroking the genitals with a moisten tissue paper.
I know its a tough job but i hope it works out for you. If you feel that you are not capable of doing it, i would advise that you euthanize the baby hamsters as i think that would be the most humane option here. Good luck and hope you succeed in raising them. |

Today sad day..Choy thanks for the help but is too late :( .
first baby hasmter pass away 2hours later after I post in forum and last baby hamster pass away at 5:20am this morning. i stay with them all the time try my best to keep them alive so i can make it till morning so i can send to vet or pet shop for adoption but turn out to be not what i expected... :( :( |
