why d puppy face fur like becum lesser n lesser n can c black color thg on his face there? i noticed his hand n leg oso have same problem

pls help

Could be mites/mange, fungus/ringworm, food/shampoo/contact allergies. All these things to name just a few, can cause hairloss. 'Black thing' could be due to chronic irritation or scabs, cant really tell from the picture.

Short answer to your short question: Your dog have skin problem...thats all i can tell you based on the amount of information you posted.

thank you for you reply. What information i need to give you? i am 1st time feeding golden puppy, alot of thg duno how 2 handle, hope can learn from u all..

Hi,
Ok, lets start off with how old our friend is. also how long have you had your dog, how long have this problem been going on, is it itchy? do you see wounds on the skin or it is just dry. does your dog smell weard like very very strong smell after he/she gets wet. have you changed the food or shampoo recently? was any medication given to your dog recently?

These are just the basics i need to know. I cant and would not diagnose your dog outright but you cold get a general idea of whats may be going on.

the puppy is born on 30-5-2008. i take him home around one month. this few days i just realize his have this problem on his face n 4 leg, his fur becum less n can see black thing. it has no wounds on the skin,it just dry. i dint change his food n shampoo n also din gv him medication. this few days he like to use his hand to do on his face n bite his own leg sometime.

Alright, the most likely cause based on what is said may be mites or mange. There are two types of mange we commonly see. Ether way you would be looking at about a month or so of medication. Depending on what organism is found on the skin, when you visit the vet, you would be ask to give medication weekly or daily. The second possibility may be fungus. In fungus one may be asked to be on medicated shampoo. the third possibility may be just bacterial infection, in this case antibiotics would be administered. Very often all three of this problems may occur at the same time leading to a vet using what may seem like random shots in the dark. nothing could be further form the truth. In most cases what you may expect is a vet may take some samples from the fur and skin and evaluate under a microscope to find out what is wrong. alternatively some vets use an ultraviolet lamp to see if there is fungus on the skin. Ether way the best situation is still to send it to the vet. We almost never diagnose problems online but heres what you would expect when you go see a vet.

Thank you for ur reply. 2day i have bring my puppy to take d vaccination and deworm, vet said might be bacteria infection.she said no fungus because d puppy body's fur is all ok except face and leg. she have gv me a medicine for a puppy to take for a week,and she said if d situation is unchanged then hv to go back c again. i very scare even after consult the vet, his fur like very less compared to other golden. here i attach his pic for you have a look
