| My 2 year old husky is suffering from CHD and I am considering having a surgery done on him. His condition is quite serious, the hind legs are very bad. May I know what kind of surgery is available and what is the estimated cost? Are there any after surgery care services available? He is hyperactive and likes to run and jump when he is let out of his cage and I know this can make conditions worse so i keep him in the cage most of the time. I know surgery is expensive, will collect money to do it but until then what is the best treatment for him. Please let me know. |

dear mimsie, there are numerous techniques available as options for the surgical correction of hip dysplasia. as surgical techniques are as good as the surgeon that operates, i strongly suggest that you have a chat with the surgeon consulting your pet as which technique the surgeon is most able and capable with.
as most importantly, the ultimate objective is to restore quality of life for the animal. different techniques will obviously cost different, and it will be wise for you to chat with the surgeon on the cost. |
