yes, i already brought my cat to see a vet, and the vet decided to give her a one month course of antifungal tablet, also with local application of antifungal cream. but then, today i just found out that another kitten of mine also got infected on her right ear!!! oh my....
now i'm having a tough time to isolate them from each other, while both of them just won't sit still and keep quiet... |

| yup.. fungal infection in cats are very difficult to treat more so in a cat colony! you can try some medicated wash with anti-fungal properties, perhaps that may help! |

Hi!!!
it's mY cat. Although i understand that it's only the first 3 days of the whole course of treatment,, but the lesion on her head has been spreading!! Now it's reaching the eye , and she couldn't open her eye!!! and i also found another patch of lesion on her limb.
Should i immediately go back to my vet, or just wait for some more days?? i already got the antifungal shampoo as well.. I really don't know what else could i do for her...
Please help! THank you

hi kuoyg
you may want to try disinfecting the articles, supplies, cages used in handling your cats and by your pets, and you may also want to disinfect the areas your cats frequent - meaning their litter boxes, their scratching posts, their tree houses (or cat trees), and whatever places they touch or use. you may also want to disinfect your hands pre and post handling.
i'm using a solution called germisep by hovid and this is supposed to anti-fungal too. i bought it because one of the cats i rescued have a minor fungal infection and i don't want to run the risk the infecting my other cats.
i've seen this solution sold in veterinary clinic and other pet supplies shop. it comes in tablet form and is to be dissolved in the appropriate amount to form a solution. i like that this can be used cleaning up my house also, i can add the solution to my laundry, for cleaning up floor, can be spray onto litter box and around the house, etc.
for my samantha, the fungal infection is stress related (single parent, teenage pregnancy, homeless, etc) and she's healing well. besides giving her the antifungal medication, i'm also giving her multivitamins to shore up her immune system (pet naturals by vermont said to the best).
hope this suggestion helps. |

Thank you everyone for your advice!!!
good news is my Sassy is healing well. The swell above her eye has reduced, revealing her usual big round eye~~~ ^^
however i had the problem in applying cream on them as they will juck lick away the cream i put on. Any good suggestion how to prevent it happening?? |

hi
perhaps you can try an E-collar? those great big plastic collar that makes them look as in "elizabethan time"?
as long as it prevents their paws from going to their face, i guess it will work. why don't you check with your vet? |
