I am an animal lovers too. For me, i think that becoming a vet is the best way to help the animals. Too bad, i can't get the course i want but i manage to enter UPM taking other course. Is there any ways to transfer to this course. I heard that having a good result in the first sem may give you a higher chance to transfer to DVM. Is there such thing like this? or there is another better way to get transfered, ecxept resit STPM. Please give some advice.
thanks
trying for the best and hope for the best. |

| you can apply for an internal transfer after your 1st year provided you have good results and a vacant space, try discussing this with your dean and the vet dean. |

| yes being a vet can help many animals but bear in mind you have to do business with breeders who breeds their dogs just to get money and neglects it's health and also deal with lousy owner who wan to pu their dog to sleep for nothing or even do debarking and many more.. |

My mentor always said that if your principles are strong then no one can make you do things you don't want to do. So as a vet it is a very simple matter to not deal with some people be it because they are greedy, cruel or self righteous.
If you do become a vet your views of right and wrong will have to be your guide. Also, it is not a vets job to judge if the owner is lousy or not. It is a vets job to be objective in diagnosis and select the most applicable treatment plans at any given situation.
Please remember that although I think it is the best job in the world, it is not without its flaws. I always tell my juniors "It is not always a bed of roses, mostly it is a whole road full of crap." But like everything else, one takes the good with the bad. |
