Why don't you tell us the reasons why your parents/relatives opposed your choice of job. Probably we can justify for them. Or probably they could be right in some sense.

Well its important to do what you like for a living for your whole life. if you like money, then you need to find a job (any) thats pays you well enough to motivate you. if you like the arts, do something related to it.

i never thought about money when i choose this profession and i hope money is not a major denominator when you make the decision!

Haha.. I was laughing at the reasons you gave earlier.

Animal bite = definitely will! (look at the hands of a vet who always treats cats, and you'll find lots of scratches - in fact, I know of many vets who likes showing off their scars).

Not popular = depends on who's looking at it. If you eat meat, then a vet definitely have an impact on your life, without you knowing it. And so far, I dont see any difficulty in finding a job as a vet (maybe just in a field which you dont quite fancy).

Low salary = well, Dr Han explains this right. Dont join a vet to become rich. Although some do get rich, but not everyone will. If you want to be a vet, do it because you WANT it, not the money factor. (Ok, which would you rather see, a doctor who only treats your sickness because he wants your money, or a doctor that treats you because he cares?)

I know many people do worry when you choose vet as your career, especially if they dont really understand the profession. In fact, I had 2 favourite biology teachers who didnt support my ambition to be a vet. But, I must say that I've never regretted that decision.
