hello everybodies
recently my friend gave me his 2 young female hamsters to be adopted. this is because his hamsters ( the 2 young hamsters` mom) is having birth again. unluckily, these 2 young hamsters were chased away and bitten by their father. 1 of them got injured on her right eye, and i think that eye cant function. once i got them, i tried to have a look on the wound but she became very inactive, always hide in her home and will squeaking and biting me when i tried to touched her.
does anybody knew what actually happened to her? and what should i do? pls tell me your opinion and advised. i hope i can bring her to a vet, but i dont know any vet in kajang@ bangi.

i think both was/still in trauma.. For the eye problem, u shud try to find a local vet nearby.. try google.. mayb u can find one gud vet.. and the medicine are less than RM20. maybe u can try by urself.. drop some eye-mo to a cotton bud, and carefully apply to the eye..

At this moment, let them settle down by themselves.. dont disturb or pick them up too frequent.. Later, u can try give them food use ur hand to let them recognize u.. They'll ok later.. Gud luck!

Hi Fitri,

Personally, I think you should send the hamster to the vet ASAP. I wouldnt like to play God by administering any eye-medication without making any proper diagnosis on the eye condition. Some eye drops contain steroid base anti-inflammatory that may in turn dampen the eye healing (assuming it is a eye injuries la).

I had to agree with Nicoty that you should let the new comers to settle down first. Any handling of the animal may result in stressing the poor fellar. I would suggest that you offer some of its favorite food from your hand. This let it used to the present of your hand in the cage. This simply allow the animal not to get stessed up or tense up each time you clean the cage or feeding the animal.
