Thank for the compliment ai_ney. You have one handsome looking pug your self. I don't understand how the owner could dump such a beautiful cute looking Pug like Sookie |

beats me... there are indeed many beautiful animals in spca n paws that were surrendered by their previous owners... :?
sookie came with a huge bladder stone... she could only pee droplets of urine, with blood... i knew that before i adopted her, but i took her home anyways and took her for an operation... spent about rm1k in the first mth... frens said i'm crazy, cud've bot a young puppy with that amount, but i disagree... the feeling is just different when u adopt, even tho i hv nvr bot a puppy b4 and probably never will... i'm just very fortunate and happy that sookie found me... |

for cats, the common reason given by the owner is the house cat gave birth to a few kittens, so cannot take care of so many cats... root of the problem is that most of the cat owners do not believe in spaying, so the house cat keeps on producing... :?
as for dogs, owners would either say they are migrating or moving from a landed property to a condo/ apt that does not allow pets... there are also a few dog owners who, 1 minute they are surrendering their adult dog to spca, and another minute u see them looking at some puppies enquiring abt adoption fee! morons! actual reason, i suspect, is becoz the dog grew out of their 'cuteness'... :(
this is based on my experience volunteering at spca a few yrs back lar... 8) |

ai ney, sookie looks sooo cute ;)
The difference with adopting, is that the dog or cat (ok, especially dogs) will feel very grateful when you adopt them. Then they'll become very close to you and will try their best to please you in every way.
And with excuses of people dumping their pets.. hmmph.. so many many silly excuses! I've even met someone who adopted a puppy, only to return it back in 2-3 weeks time with the excuse that they're moving to an apartment! |

thanks Dr Nat... she is a darling isn't she? :D
is it really true that adopted dogs 'know' and are grateful to their new owners? sookie is my very first dog, so i guess i'll find out when my second dog comes along... 8)
talking about excuses! just spend a few hrs in spca and one will find all sorts of ppl and all sorts of lame excuses... |

i always curious how does it feel to touch dog's face like yours? u know, all those folded skin and the way theirs face expressions, hehhee....
i think whenver we do something kind with cats or dogs, they will acknowledge our kindness. Like my mother cat. Since we rescued her butt from kerengga, she's sooooooo good to us, not even afraid to us when she was a kitten. And she's the most manja cat, even more manja than her kittens, heheheh.. |

hahahahaaa...
i guess it's like touching any dog's face, just minus the long snout!
because of all those 'extra' skin, i like to 'massage' her face and make funny faces... :P very cute indeed and never fail to make me laugh!
u r welcomed to touch sookie's face, if u meet her... i promise she won't bite!
do u hv dogs, fhinz, or only cats? :) |

yeah, i have seen in movies where people like to do something with those skins, hehehe... u must be one of those ppl who can't resist to 'massage' the skin, :P
i only have cats. Once we have a pair of white parrots but we have to give them to a friend of my father coz we pitied for the parrot when we gone away. At least, cats are more independent, they can do lots of things either we human are with them or not, hehehe...
I'm afraid of dogs and besides, I can't touch them. Well, I can but I have to wash my hand with one portion of dirt and 6 portions of water after touch any dogs.
so, besides this lovely folded-skin dog, do u have any dogs or cats or any type of animals? at our home, we sometimes have "visitors" like snakes and biawak, hehehe... |
