Hi, thanks for asking. I do found a VET and sent him there for treatment, unfortunately it was too late, he died. It was my carelessness that cause his death. I have read books and searched the internet, I found out that it's not easy too keep terrapin or any other kinds of reptiles, you gotta know them before thinking to keep them. I have two new baby terrapins now, it is a lot of work in taking care of them. But hey, once you've fell in love with this little fellas, I don't think anything will stop you from keeping them, right? :D

So you got 2 new one? I assuming it is red eared sliders. So generally speaking, these terrapins are a bit more cannivourous when there are young but tend to be more herbivorous when there are adult. A common illness among red ear slider is hypovitaminosis A (lack of Vitamin A). The signs for hypovitaminosis A will be swollen eyes with white mucus at it and some respiratory noise. Try to offer foods rich in vitamin A such as carrots, papaya and sweet potatoes. Ok good luck with your new lots!!!

Yeah, graduate last year. Now working with wildlife. Special interest in birds and big cats. Still learning a lot from my seniors on wildlife medicine especially reptiles in which the approach could be different.
