I have found out lately my dog have something like pox near the head area. i bring him to vet and have some antibiotic and medicated shampoo, but after 3 days i still found the pox still there.

the skin has been dry and i try to take some sample and show you guys, the vet check and she cant conform this is something like Mange. The fur are still shinning and no sign of fur loss.

well it could be a follicular cast OR it also looks like a 'dandruff pierced through by hair'. both carries different differentials, but if i were you, i will first try to go for a local therapy such as medicated washes containing benzoyl peroxide and see what happens.

if the lesion increases in size or distribution, then the vet will probably do more diagnostic workout to narrow down the differentials or to go for the more probable diagnosis based on the response of what have been done prior to presentation.

Skin lesions take longer time to heal. Some may take weeks to show result, as the old fur is shed off and new fur grows. By the way, how big is the lesion and how old is your dog?

did you peel of the scab prematurely?

alternately, if you really want to know whats going on there, a simple impression smear or scrape on the lesion site may tells us more if its a bacterial complication or otherwise. try discuss alternate methods to get to the bottom of this with your vet if there is much lingering doubts in your mind!

itu la pasal.

the scab will form again, and try not to scrub it off (i know its very tempting) but if removed prematurely, it will look just like that red spot belakang your dogs' head.
