Today is a very sad day for me. Again, I've lost a kitten as result from a weird sickness that even I dont understand. For what I got from the vet is just dosage of antibiotics.
I've been treating 8 kittens that was infected by flu sickness since last 2 weeks. I spent more than RM500 just to make sure I get everything they need to live just to see another day.
What first brings me to tears is when I lost 2 of my kittens, apart from all of those 8 from mange infections. I've learnt from then, to immediately send them to vets if it does happen because treatment before it gets worst is the best action.
So, now I am even left with 8 kittens, my worries still stay. Yes, these are astray kittens, I picked up from all around the city of Miri because I am sure they are better off with me rather than outside world.
But, I am still willing to save of what is left. From 8, I am left with 6. The 2 kittens died of dehydration with a weak body. Feeding them antibiotics and feeding them high concentrate vitamin nutriens called NutriPet does not help. Another 2 is coming to the same state where I need to act quickly before something else goes wrong. Yellow vomits, no apetite whatsoever, depression...not even the vet can prescribe me a working meds. So, I beg if anyone in this forum that is having knowledge of these symptoms, of any suggestions to save the 2 kittens from the same fate as the ones that had left before them. It breaks my heart always, when feeding them nutriens so that they wont miss their next meal when I am away

Went to vet early in the morning today and they are saying my kittens are somehow weakening because of poison inside their body. He gave my kitten some fluid to help strengthen the liver and vitamins. As oral meds, I got amino solution. I'm a bit please to see my kittens still ok.

But suddenly at home, my first kitten suddenly stretch her body all out that it giving signs of passing out. Eyes are not responsive to any kind of touch, so I presumed her time is soon. As I am typing this now, she is no more and my last poor kitten that is suffering the same fate is weakening even after the shot and meds given. It is still under intensive care of my wife at home. It broke our heart to see them passed away because we do love cats like a family member of our own. So, there is nothing I can ask for now just only to pray that somehow miracle shall happen and the last one survive.

The last kitten had just passed away. Just take my posts as a story that I need to share with someone because normally people take pets as granted. So, wish me luck with the last 4.

Hi ILep,

I encounter the same situation 1 year back, and I would say you might facing this issue for quite some time. I believe your kitten are die of virus infection. No antibiotic work on this situation.
What we can do is to strengthen their immune and let them fight the virus.

Most of the kittens are die of dehydration as they vomit.

The best is quarantine the sick kitten. Clean your environment with bleach (dilute 1 part bleach to 30 part water) including all utensils.
Always wash your hand with "Cuticura"

Stand by glucose, vomiting pill, heat pad, and some prednisolone (anti-inflamatory).

Ensure they are getting sufficient drink, give them glucose every few hour, vomiting pill & prednisolone twice a day.

If you able to find "Imunoplus" at your place. Give the kitten 2ml twice. This is a herbal preparation that good in stabilize the situation.

Place the heat pad at their sleeping place to avoid their body temperature from dropping.

Thanks a lot!! Really appreciate the reply. I had lost another young kitten at cause of heart failure because of worsen flu. But worst yet, another kitten is vomtting yellow bile. And I know that is sign of hunger, another FIP maybe. I'll take your advise and he'll spend the night for days after today with me. From 8 big family I'm left with 3, never had got the sickness before, thought mange was the worst there is for cats. Never knew FIP is a sure no cure death sentence for a cat. Thank you, I'll get to the vet and take everything needed for the care. Hope this will somehow help my kitten. :D

Unfortunately, my kitten died last night. I gave him comfort, warm bed, glucose ready by my side, water but still I think it is not enough. But when he was dead, a lot of fluid like substance came out from his mouth? What sign is that? Was it a different sickness he's been through?

3 of my cats had symptoms like yours 2 died and only 1 survived and now he gets bullied by male cats outside so he has some sort of phobia the vet said before my cats died its because of the liver getting eaten by viruses and the symptoms will only show when the liver is 70% eaten so i think the best way of protecting your cat is to vaccinate it before any illnesses start to come

p.s. there is no cure for this virus and the onlything you can do is to give it antibiotics, take good care of it, give vitamins, feed it ( force feed if necessary) and pray to god
and that is all i can say and whatever you do dont let it stay overnight at the vet's because it can catch other types of illnesses from the other cats that are in there as well like what happened to my cat....she died after in and out from the vet, it made her appetite come back for a little while but she caught other viruses from other cats.
