Is the apple scented bedding from Ikano Power Centre okay for hamsters?

If it is, is there a non-scented one from the same brand there?

Thanks for the help.

Yup. ANY kind of scented bedding is BAD for hamsters.

I use Pine. Although after reading up online and visiting forums . . . turns out that EVEN Pine is harmful for hamsters. Also so is Cedar. Because they give off fumes that can cause respiratory disease and liver damage in rodents.

However I continue to use it becuase I hav no other choice. You can use Aspen though . . .its fine. But after I looked at the price I decided not to. Its only available at Pets WOnderland and is too expensive for me.

Rabbit Hay is also fine for them. Basically any unscented, non-pine, non-cedar bedding is ok. You know the cardboard variety? thats also fine.

You could always use recycled paper litter. Breeders Celect recycled paper cat litter is so far much much better than wood shavings. It is not dusty, has no smell, absorbs moisture better than wood shavings.

Most of the wood shavings available in Malaysia are Pine. The only Pine shavings that is safe for hamsters is Kaytee. Chipsi Super and Chipsi Classic is ok coz made of spruse and fir trees, not as bad as pine and cedar. Chipsi Extra is better coz made of beech wood.

Hi all. Yes that i agreed with crazymouse. Myself have 3 hamsters. Nowadays i also used recycled paper litter. So, Flygon, what kind of bedding you are using for your lovely hamster currently?
