I'm wondering if someone already used with sheep Diazinon 60 EC – Technical Grade :?: instead of other branded one like Neocidol?
Are these theoretically the same product? Liquid and without excipients? in this case, why the price is so different?!
Thanks for any suitable comments.

Hi,
I have not used Diazinon on animals before but have used it for environmental control of ticks so I'm not speaking from experience. I can tell you there is a definite difference between the branded and generic in terms of price but even the pharmaceutical company knows there is only so much they can ride the name and for approximately the same product it should not be massive price difference. Now, I looked briefly at the information on the internet and Neocidol seems to be quite a bit more concentrated so that must factor into the price difference. So, no, these are not the same product. if it is licensed for use on animals, you can try it out... perhaps run your own little field trial to see if the performance out does the price difference. Good luck |

Hi Dr csh,
thanks for your comment!
I've recently read an article edited by an university researcher which test toxicology of Diazinon 60 EC. He didn't made any difference among brands or kinds of Diazinon 60 EC hence I could at least try the same trial without worries about my sheep.. maybe..
In a while, I would like to know better the matter and know other opinions before to take any risk ;-)
Bye |
