hye, im a new member of this forum. igot one cat name lucky.

shes been hit by car one night and the next morning, we found lucky at our neighbor house. firstly it seems like nothing series.

i bought her to one private vet in kajang utama. and the doc told that she might broke her leg. the clinic doesnt have any x-ray. so i went to one gov vet clinic.

she got bleeding in her vagina maybe, i dont remember. and after the x-ray process we found out that my cats bone patah tiga. means like there is a one small pieces bone and 2 long bones around her leg.

the doc told me to do the surgery and they will put one pin inside the bones to connect the 3 piece of bones. after the surgery we saw the pin is connected straight into the bones and got extra about 3cm outside her body through one small hole.

after one week if im not mistaken, we do another x-ray and find out there is a connection between the bones, means new bone dah bercantum.
after a few weeks suddenly the pin come out accidently by itself. so no more support for the leg once the pin is out from the bone.

we went to see the doc and the doc said no need to do the x-ray since we just do the x-ray 2 weeks ago and the result might be same. doc ask me to keep her in cage for another 1month.

after 1month we done another xray and the result is the bones no longer connected. means the new bones are broken like before. i waskind of pissed off. why dont the doc just do the xray by the time the pin is out just to know whether the bone is in good condition or not.

after that we done another one more surgery and this time the pin is in her body permanently. so no extra pin out from the body. everything is inside the body. after 1 month, another xray result is the bones are stillnot connected. i dont know why and so the doc. doc said maybe it takes time but her suggestion is to do another surgery to build a 'jambatan' like she said so that the bone boleh bercantum and the bone boleh staright becoz in the xray the bones position tidak staight mcm yang sepatutnya. there is a small part bone yg belum bercantum and the doc said can be infected at the bones. thatswhy they need to do the surgery since lucky's leg is still functionable. otherwise if the bone is being infected, they might need to cut her leg.

it makes me so pissed off!

i'm not satisfied with the clinic services, and it cause a 3 times surgery.

so my question is :

-is my cat able to recover from this bone problem.

-my personal vet in kajang utama ask me to bring to dr yeoh clinic in PJ since he is veteran surgeon. i hope he can help me. so is this a good idea?

well it is your right to seek a second opinion and to do this correctly, you will need a letter from your current vet and also all the test' and x-rays that has been done up till now.

osteomyelitis or the inflammation of the bone is one of the many other possibilities of non-union, malunion of the bones. and if treated early enough, we should be able to fix it once we find out the reason of the malunion or non union, or slow union.

last friday, i went to yeoh vet clinic in kelana jaya. we do the xray again, and the doc said that the bone is much shorter than the other one. i looked at the xray and yes it is 70% shorter than the other leg. the doc said it shudnt be like that coz the previous doc cut it and make luckys leg pendek sebelah. i was shocked.

but then dr yeoh decided to do another surgery and get a small piece of bones from any part of luckys body to stimulate tho bone growth. after the surgery we can see the leg is shorter than before and when she stand the leg only can toouch the ground a little. it looks funny but deeply i was sad looking at her like that. maybe shes in pain but who knows, they cant even speak. i hope this is her last surgery. cant afford to see her in the 4th surgery.
