I have three cats...

Jessie - female (spayed) age 2 years old.
Pebble - male age 2 years old (not spayed)
Baby Simba - male age 3 1/2 years old (not spayed)

Pebble is actually a son of Baby with my previous cat.Baby used to be a very good father he even let pebble suck his nipple when he was small and not forgetting nuturing his son as well.

Now pebble is big enough and baby always find him kinda attractive.I even saw them mating together!!!

Recently they always end up with fights..i think pebble is starting to ignore baby. When baby is on heat he would approch baby instead of jessie..i always wonder why..and now because pebble refused they will end up with fights...

I really need help to solve the problems...

1)Should i spayed them all?
2)Will spaying will make cats has no intention to get intimate?
3)Why baby only attract to pebble?Even when before i spayed jessie he has no interest with her....
4)Can cat actually recognise other cats are male or female ?

I think your problem is that Baby mounts on Pebble, probably is to show who's more dominant, not that they want to mate. Now that Pebble is bigger, he doesn't allow Baby to mount on him anymore and is trying to be the more dominant one. That is why they are both now fighting each other, both are trying to be the dominant one. Even if you haven't spayed Jessie, Baby is not interested in her is because she is not on heat (and male cats don't come on heat, its only for the females).

In cases like this, castration of the males do help PREVENT the fighting of both males, but provided they are done before the fighting even starts. Now that it has started, the castration would probably slow it down a bit, but not necessarily stop it completely.

Thanks Dr Nat for your kind explanations.
In that cases i will bring them both for castration.I hope they would stop fighting or at least reduce it.

Thanks again.
