i would like to seek for your advise on this matter. My dog(french bulldog) around 5 years old currently is in critical condition(abdomen bloated, fur dropping, eyes buldging out, saliva dripping non-stop, unable to move muscle, extremely weak and inactive).
the dog is now at Seger Pets in Cheras and is suppected to be having cholangia hepatitis. however, the main cause is still cannot be confirmed. Currently undergoing intravenous drip which contain antibiotic for liver. the dog was admitted on october 31, 2007. 2 blood tests had been done. He is suspected to be diagnosed with liver and kidney failure. It might be due to food poisoning and was fed with one panadol on october 30, 2007( which was also suspected as one of the cause)
i urge your urgent attention regarding this matter. |

cholangiohepatitis is the inflammation of the bile duct which requires intravenous fluids to maintain hydration and symtoms of hepatitis (jaundice) is one of the more common signs.
sometimes while we cannot find the answers or reason for the inflammation, it is prudent to give appropriate antiobiotics and also potent anti inflammatories to control the inflammation. i have only diagnosed it once with ultrasonography and blood test, but my impression is that with all cases of hepatitis, be prepared for a long fight as sometimes the organ needs to recover first from the inflammation then regenerate.... while at the same time keep an eye for kidney function. all this will be done via regular blood screens, a service which segar vets has all the approprite equipments. they are very well equipped i can tell you that!
segar vets will know what to do best for your pet and keep us updated with your pets' condition! |
