HI...
I plan to try to raise fresh water lobster in johor.
Fresh water lobster need to have the right soil condition in order to grow and survive.
I am totally new to aquaculture.
I just plan to start some investment in this..
I would like to know malaysia goverment venerinary department will help on this?
I also looking to land to buy to raise lobster. |

| I think you may need to go to Jabatan Perikanan instead of Jabatan Perkhidmatan Haiwan. They would be able to give you more information. Fresh water lobster farming is less common in Malaysia, so we are lack of expert. You would be able to learn more from Taiwan. |

Teoh is right. Can try Jab Perikanan. They have a nucleus breeding centre in Pulau sayak Kedah. but that one specialise in Tiger Prawn hatchery. Basically Taiwan is a good place to learn agriculture stuffs.
not many people rearing Big Head Prawn. There are a few in Lukut Basically u will need to set up ur hatchery if possible or buy from hatchery if ur a beginner but having said that i dun know of any people selling fry. anyway prawn culture are almost similar. i suggest u go learn tiger prawn hatchery and grow-out. Not much diff between brackish and freshwater prawn other than the environment (eg salinity). Big head prawn good cos price is stable and high cos of low supply. |
