I've recently got an email like this:
Quote: Hello..
I am a nurse and my late grandma was a bulldog breeder, she died about 3
months ago and left behind a male and a female english bulldog ( Sire & Dam)
, the female bulldog recently had a litter of 5 puppies, they are so
adorable, my job as a nurse cannot allow me to take of these puppies.
I want to find them loving homes, if you are interested in having them, please
contact me immediately.
Have a nice day.
Angelina.
Weirdly, it ended up in my spam box. So, I decided to search around the internet.. this is what I found:
Quote: Consumers Warned of Internet Puppy Scam
The Council of Better Business Bureaus and American Kennel Club are warning consumers about a new scam involving 'free' puppies being promoted on MySpace, in print ads, and on fake web sites.
The ads show cute puppies in countries including Nigeria and invite people to adopt them. Respondents are asked to send money to have the dog vaccinated, ship the dog to their location, and cover local taxes.
Included in the dogs offered are a number of expensive breeds such as English bulldogs. A number of people have paid up to $1,500 and never received their dog.
So... beware! There might be a new scam going around targeting pet lovers!!
