There's more than 200 breeds of dogs. Who can remember all of them? (ok, maybe perhaps very senior members in the dog clubs). I'm still learning too. Most vets will know/recognise the popular breeds only.
If vet student need to know all the dog breeds, then they must also know all the breeds of cats, cows, horses, pigs, chickens, goats, sheep, etc etc etc... |

I think there's one question that ppl love to ask to vet and doc:
"You must be have a very good memory coz you can memorize lots of thing, right?"
(actually, i want to ask that one but then, that is a silly question, hehe...) |

No such thing as silly or stupid question. It is even more stupid if you want to know and not asking.
You don' t need to have amazing memory or IQ to be a vet. No way 5 years of vet school can cover everything. You are not expected to know each and everything. But you are expected to know where to find the information you need. That's why, after graduate as a vet, a good vet will continue to read. More details, cover more knowledge, more specific and related info and updates. No vet can tell you he/she know everything. Well at least it is true for, I don't know everything. I am still learning. Lots of thing to catch up, lots of thing waiting for me to read. Lot's of thing to be updated. Apparently the sciencetist can't make up thier mind in the research finding and make us read the updates every year. Just joking. |

I wished I had a history teacher like your mom, stories tend to stay permanently in my head.
A certified Sejarah class snorer for 3-4 years, to the point I was caught by the teacher but she thought I was sick  |

erm...
why i doubt if my memories are enough for me to be a vet.. >.<
i'm always very forgetfull and stuff....
so i'm pretty worried...
for my SPM results, i got at 4D for Bio.. which is the lowest of all my subs..
but in A level, i knew i did quite well compared to last time..
lots of reading? does it include story books like the fictions and all?
or is it all about philosophy and life and stuff like that? or mayb biography? |

Well, as for me...can say that I love animals very much..since primary 3...
and I can recognize up to 15-40 dog's breed...because I spend more time reading dog owner's manual than school text book...if you're not sure about the lifestyle of a vet....you can ask the professional people here or you can try to help out your vet..and observe how he deals with his profession.. |

Well, you got a good start. I didn't even know more than 5 breeds of pedigree in my first year. Been with local dogs all my life. |

| I think it is more important as what asterix does, reading the dog owner manual rather than trying to memorise all the dog breeds. It is more important that you try to understand more about your dog. Only then, will your knowledge on dog breeds grow. :) |

I became a vet because i promised my dog and God ( althought I am an atheist) It is true. My dog met with an accident when she was only 3 months old. first and only time i prayed that if she survives, I will be a vet. That was 6 years ago .
So simple what, what you think ? |
