|
|
| My female cat, Kiki, is 4-5 months old. I adopted her from a pet store when she was 4mths, and she was living in a cage with a male cat 1mth younger. The clerk told me she ate very lightly. I took her to the Vet a few days after and she was confirmed perfectly healthy after all regular procedures. Kiki was always extremely playful and rather skittish, almost never taking a break from playing. But soon after her appointment she changed. Kiki started having 'sour' smelling bloody diarrhea. Lately it has been off and on but it is still happening. She started eating more often and plenty. She also has become very laid back and sleeping almost all hours, aswell as being overly affectionate. She has been seeking quiet areas in my room to sleep or hide in. Her belly has become hard and bloated feeling. When I listen to her belly I can hear gurgling liquid noises as if it cotains fluid. All of this has lead me to believe she is pregnant, or ill. What's up with her? |

| usually cats come of age at about 6 months of age, thus unless kiki have been mated unknown to you, i doubt she is pregnant. does she go outside ie free roaming? |

Kiki lived in a cage with a male cat from a different litter who was also not neutered. I do know that the average age female cats comes of age is 6 months, but i did do some research and it is possible for her to be ready at 4 months.
I thought that the other possibility was that she had some huge parasitic worm growing inside her belly, causing her bloody diarrhea, but she was dewormed, and that should have killed any parasite.
Also, Kiki got a deworming AND vaccination, so if she was pregnant, that is supposed to be very bad.
Kiki does have another vet appointment scheduled for this month, so i should find out soon, but i'm still very anxious. |

No, Kiki never left the house to roam, she's an indoor cat
And I forgot to mention that the vet did an abdominal inspection with his hand to feel for anything unusual, including a pregnancy, but found nothing :?
I'm afraid that if she is pregnant and she has her kitten(s) they will be stillborn or deformed because she had treatment while pregnant :(
I'm also afraid that it would be hard for her as she is a kitten herself .. |

You can request for an ultrasound examination and upon your consultation with your vet, he or she will then decide whether the scan is warranted or not. if the vet is troubled and kikis' stomach is giving you sleepness nights, perhaps an ultrasound examination will help!
your vet will know best! |
