hi, i hav ants prob at my home and thought of using pesticide to solve the problem coz its attacking my cat's food n also themselves. D pesticide is powdery and im scared they might step on it, or eat d dead ants.is it harmfull?am i not recomend to use d pesticide? btw, all my cats havent been vaccine and they r still kittens.

my house is old and one of the main problems (apart from the old plumbing, old tiles, etc etc) is to have ants all over when theres food. This also poses a problem to my cat house which was built in the garden behind the house. The ants just luvs to climb inside the kibble bowls. To scatter ant powder is out of the question. So, my own solution to this is to place the kibble bowls on a plate that contains water so ants cant climb anymore. Old kampung trick but it works so far. No need to put so much water, as long as the foot of the bowl is slightly submerged it will work. Ants hate water and they cant swim..but thats MY solution. Im sure the others could help in some other ways.

Any type of pesticide is a potential poison to your pets. That includes herbicides, rodenticides, and all other -cides as well. If you're using it, make sure your cat is locked up safely somewhere else and wash away all the remnants before letting your cat near that area again.

If you dont want ants getting into your cat food bowl, there's one more thing you can do. Feed your cat only at certain times in the day, and take away the uneaten portion. Soon, your cat will adjust itself to your feeding times.
