| My female Rott passed away a week ago. We are all very sad especially my male Rott who refused to eat for 2 days. I am looking for a companion for my dog so that he is not so lonely when I go to work. I have been spending alot of time with him for the past few days. Now he starts to eat a little. I am also planning to keep puppy Rott. Therefore if the female Rott is spayed, I can't have any puppy. |

| She was 6 years old when she passed away. Found her having difficulty in breathing one day when I came back from work. Immediately took her to 24hours polyclinic in Old Klang Road. She was having fever and pneumonia. Dr gave her an injection and some medication. She seemed better the next day. Unfortunately 3 days later she passed away. My male dog, Rocky is a year older than her. He seems to react strange lately, always hide himself in a corner at the back of my house, eat only when I accompany him, otherwise he refused to eat his meal. I think he misses her very much, that is why I look for an adult female rott as a companion for him. |

Sorry to hear about your female rott.
SPCA usually does get a number of rottweilers dumped there. Unfortunately, since they want to prevent more animals dumped there, they are always spayed first. I'd suggest that if you want a companion for your rott, you get one from here that can go alone with your dog, or adopt a puppy. Puppies have a way with adult dogs that seem to be able to cheer them up. However, it also depends on the temperament of your dog too. |

| Thank you Dr Nat & Dr Han for your reply & your kind concern. Someone just called me from Klang this morning saying that she has a 6 months old female rott. Will pay a visit this weekend. I hope they can get along. My male rott is quite temperamental. I remember once my sister came over and pay more attention to the female rott coz she is very friendly and likes attention. Rocky remembered my sister and the next time she tried to touch him, he barked at her angrily. He doesn't like my sister to touch him ever since. Real jealous fellow. |

Good luck with the new doggie.
Just an advice: don't be too eager to breed a 6 month old pup (if you indeed still intend to breed rotts). Give her time to grow up first. :) |
