| My star tortoise is having some problems with his eyes. Takes it awhile to open his eyes because it is probably sticky and he rubs his eyes quite often. I took him to a vet and the vet prescribed Gentamicin-POS which I drop on its eyes twice daily. I also use saline solution given by the vet to clean his eyes out daily or as often as I can. However, this is just the second day after he has been to the vet and I was wondering when I will start to see results that his eyes are getting better. I still see him having difficulty in opening his eyes whenever he wakes up from his sleep and its a little bit watery too. Once the eyes are open it is okay. He is eating well and is active. When should I see results of recovery or should I take him to another vet again? Please advise |

Sometimes lack of vitamin and infections may manifest as eye problems. As long as your tortoise is eating well, provide a complete balance diet possible, and have ameliorate any chances of infection or existing infection.
Take care. |
