Hi all,
Got a happy news - my female cat, Kakak, has gave birth. Probably last Sunday, Aug 12th coz my mom said she heard meowing. But, I just knew, just confirmed that there's new kitten(s) when I heard the tiny sounds :D
Before this, I thought Kakak has problem in giving birth! And her nipples looks like sorta dry, something like dark, maroon colour. Only nipples near her fore legs are pinkish. I think this is unusual coz I thought cats' nipples should be pinkish colour, right?

Hmm, so, got one of my worries over. Now, still worry about her sister, Adik, coz she's also pregnant and havent seen her since last week. Probably at the in front house, have asked the neighbour but he said he hasn't seen that cat. Maybe she did her nesting other places, so sad :(

Thanks, Hanie and Dr Nat!
As only my mom is the only one who has seen the kittens, so I can't give them names yet. Have to see their characters first :D. Anyway, according to my mom, all are orange. How did she able to see the kittens when Kakak is near? She gave Kakak some treat far away from the nest, hehehe.. Anyway, it's hard to decide who's the father as Kakak is orange-white-black colour!

Dr Nat, still can't find Adik. I'm so worried coz not sure if she's safely gave birth or get killed :( Need to reasked my neighbour again. Hopefully she's safe, her kitte(s) safe and go back to our home.

Dont be surprised if your babies have more than one father ;)

Remember, if you are not breeding them, get them spayed/neutered as soon as possible.

Bad news, guys - one of my orange kittens was dead yesterday. So sad coz that kitten hasn't got the chance to open its eyes and see the world. And, it looked like it was tortured coz in its dead state, its eyes were tightly shut, forelegs were hugging its face as if try to defend itself from something. And, when I found it (I still dunno what its sex), its body still warm, probably just died. I dunno if it was the shock of moving to new place or probably not enough milk from its mother? Anyway, they are now about 1 week old and they just moved from their birth place (a blood-stained cardboard box) to a new place (a wooden box that quite safe from the other cats, hopefully). And, now, everyday, you can hear their meowing. Maybe just found a way to express their feelings :D

Now, it's only left one kitten. Really sad as it's only alone, no sibling. I wonder what happen to the other kitten, so afraid if Kakak probably eat her youngs again, like the history repeated.
Do you think that probably that Kakak hasn't got enough milk for her kittens that her kittens died one by one, not having enough nutrients? And, the one kitten that left, always meowing, sounds like crying. And, Kakak, can't bear to hear her kittens sounds like that, always running back to her kitten, even though at that time she only just eaten a bit. I'm afraid if this continues, Kakak probably herself not get enough nutrients and can't produce enough milk as she's hasn't eaten much. You can feel her backbone, not enough meat on her bone. Probably she also has worms in her body, that why she's not a good eater.
What should I do, this is really make me feel so terrible. Should I buy that special kitten milk so that Kakak can have a bit rest?

Have you observed if the kitten could suckle properly? Have you brought the kittens to the vet for a check up (especially when it looks weak)?? Have you weighed the kittens and check their weight since birth??

Most importantly, how much have you been prepared before Kakak even got pregnant?

Actually, before Kakak got herself pregnant, I wanted to bring her to the vet clinic. But, when I've done the reseach which vet should I go and get a carrier, she's pregnant and have to wait for her to gave birth and her kittens to cerai susu (according to the vet, she not recommended a pregnant cat get vaccination).
Well, to cut long story short, I tried to make several nest for her (she used 2 that I've created for her :D), make sure she fill up(but that kinda hard coz I think there's probably worms in her, making her not a good eater but have to make checkup to confirm but the vet said have to wait for the cat to give birth before give her deworming :( ) and I also tried to keep her relax by shooing the big bully (a big, white cat that always terrorizes other cats!). I'm very worried when she eat less that her bro and Adik.

Anyway, I tried to make the kitten, the only one, to suckle Kakak's nipple but dunno why the kitten seemed can't find the nipple. I want to force the kitten's mouth and put its mouth to the nipple but I think that is too cruel or maybe Kakak might see that action threathen her young. Even Kakak seems like no idea what to do with her kitten. I think probably because her own mom has left her (actually MIA) when she's still young, Kakak might doesn't have a clue what a mom should do. FYI, for generations in my family cat, the mom cats seems to learn from their own mom, how to take care their youngs, do what mom cats usually do, etc.

In the end, I think it's my own fault not to bring the kitten to the vet to ask her advice. I feel really terrible as the only kitten also died, its was found outside its nest. So, this weekend (after make sure Kakak really don't have any kittens left), I'll bring her to the vet and have her to be examined, vaccination and deworming. My theory is Kakak herself probably not in a good health to be a mom cat. She's also probably doesn't have enough nutrient and not enough milk (maybe that's why her kittens died coz maybe her nipples doesn't have enough milk). So, hopefully this future visit might answer all my unaswered questions.

By the way, the last kitten really is a screamer and can move well. I want to examine her more but I don't want my scent polute its own scent. I think probably it and siblings might have been died of hunger :(

In short, I think I'm a failure even though I have tried my best with my limited knowledge :(

huh, breast milk? that's totally new!

so, we can give kittens milk with dutchlady brand, eh? could you please specify which dutchlady is that coz I'm the youngest in the family and I haven't seen a baby's milk for a very, very long time so I don't have any idea about baby's milk.

And, thanks for your advice, farrah, I'll use ur advice for future use as now Kakak doesn't have any kitten left, so sad for her. so, before she start to mate again, I'm going to bring her to the vet :D
