My daughter, Lyn and I were in SS2 last nite for midnite supper at the Indomie Square. So after makan and all, we took our car and passed the road siding the balai polis SS2 as I wanted to have durian at the corner. Just about to turn left, I caught a glimpse of a kitten on the curb, maybe about 3-4 months old, belly and all fours up. We thought it was an odd position for a cat in public, or a dead cat.
I parked the car not too far away. Lyn refused to go down in case she might view something horrible. True enough. Coming closing to the kitten, I saw this huge rock, all smattered with blood. There were splattered blood everywhere. The kitten's head was smashed to pulp. Someone had obviously smashed its head.
I tell you people...I broke down there and then. Hpw could someone could be SO SO cruel? I got back in the car, durians all forgotten. Headed back home and kissed and hugged all our 12 cats. All the while thinking how lucky they are to be safe and loved in our house, and thinking...that we are not an evil like those who killed the poor kitten. |

| I always see dead cats or dogs on the road but never see one that had their head smashed!! that's soo cruel coz it obvious ppl do it on purpose! oh, how I wish whoever did that on purpose get back what they did to that cat (but hopefully that ppl insaf, not do anything cruel to animals) If cats or dogs that get hit by cars, that probably accidents, no intention to do that, right. |

| Years ago, when I was back home to kampung, one of my little cousins were seen playing with a small kitten at the back of the house. Next thing you know, the cat's tail was on fire. This small brat had tied up a string to the kitten's tail and burnt it. he got a good smack from me. Then, last year I was at an alfresco restaurant eating my laksa kari when I saw a guy started to kick and thumping on a pregnant cat that brushed his legs while passing by. Enough to say that this man who was a 6 footer, had a tounge lashing from me. He was very abusive and started walking towards me with a stool. My bowl of kari laksa landed on his face. And I got helped from other customers. I cant take any of these crabs from anyone. |

reading these sad stories really makes me wonder.
how we human can be so cruel that sometimes it despise
other human as well.
i live in a neighbourhood where having pets is just
a so-so hobby.so u can always see some crazy people
will somehow chase other people cats/dogs with broom.
or kids playing pranks with the stray cats. to stop this is
like another milestone effort coz i am surrounded by those
with dont know-dont care attitude. only few of my neighbours
will actually act when they've seen this torturing happened.
as for the rest, they dun even care as if is not part of their
problem at all.
one day after my netball training as usual, i found a cat
- taking cover under the shrubs. she looked very
weak and move very slow. after a closer watch, i noticed
that there was this big wound at the back portion of the cat.
sort like she was burnt. the flesh was exposed n she was
in pain. with that kinda wound, i suspect that some bloody
~censored~ must have burn the cat in purpose.brought the poor
cat to the vet, but she cant make it.so we hv to put her to
sleep. if only the responsible person can be punished in
such manner, i would be glad to do it first in a favour to
the cat  ....perhaps...
i hope that one day (perhaps), all this can be stopped.
coz it's just so unbearable to see those poor creature
being done in such way. hopefully this will stopped.... |

Hanie, good for you to be so brave to stand up for the poor mom cat, even though that guy is 6 ft! and lucky you to have supporters :D So, what happen to the pregnant cat? Did she hurt badly? Hopefully her unborn kittens were safe.
didie, I confessed, i'm one of ppl who always chase away other cats from my home. Actually, I don't chase cats away unless they terrorize my cats. And, currently, I always chase away a big, white, male cat that apparently not only always scares my cats, he also terrorizes my neighbour's cats, especially kittens and smaller cats! If you look at that cat, he looks like a big, old cat that have weak cat's senses. But, he's a big bully when he knows that no humans around. So, I chase him away by clapping hard or just make sure he knows I'm around - meaning he can't hurt my kittens and mom cat.
But, I agree with you, about ppl chasing cats with brooms. If they get too violent, the cats might get terrible injuries. No matter that the cats might be big bullies, I don't think it's their main problems, they are just following their animal sense - to survive (especially if that cats are feral) |

Well, I am the type that cant take crab like that as these animals cant stand for themselves. The pregnant mama ran away and I really hope they were ok. I still keep a cat that I rescued from a neighbour. That time we were moving away from our apartment to our new house. This cat, now renamed Petite, together with its kittens, Zoe and Sagar were treated badly. The owner poured hot water on them. Sagar had his ears cut. All bore scars on their back.
We have so far rescued so many cats and ended up keeping them. Some were given away, some died of some kind of illness, most are still around. Fat as they are..lol.. |

:? same like me- im very angry when those poor creatures r treated badly. i mean it maybe OK for some to chase away bully cats. but, to chase them away by pouring hot water? a big NO-NO for that. i mean its just too cruel, dunt u agree?
sometimes this way of torturing makes me wonder, people who did this dont hv feeling is it? karma works, u know. maybe next time those who tortured animals will then be tortured back....by becoming cats/dogs in their next life.
well this is just my-2 cent opinion....i just hope that this will stopped. |
