i dont have the knowledge nor teached by any lecturer on this.
Is it true that if a carrier animal (FMD).. vaccinated for 6 times it will lose its carrier status?
A far as i know .. if the animal not been introduce with any form of that specific antigen for about 2 years... the animal may not longer be the carrier of that disease. |

I don't think FMD infected animals shed for more than 6 months anyway so I don't really see how vaccination would help. In fact, if they are shedding it means they were infected and vaccination immunity is not as strong as imunity after recovery from natural infections anyway.
I'm not sure what you meant by the second paragraph. |

what i meant was if the animal hasnt been challenged by the antigen within the period of 2 years, we can come to the conclusion that the animal lose its carrier status. The animal no longer a threat to the other naive animal. |

Okay, so the official information is that the virus can be found in the oropharynx in cattle for 30 months and longer for buffalos. Vaccination does not shorten carrier status.
I doubt the shedding is constant or heavy in these animals but I would not expose naive animals to them. |
