A few days ago, i notice that my kitten slept almost 18 hours a day for 2 days. Is it normal?
She is a playful and cheerful kitten, sometimes can be translated as naughty... |

Hi Belluv (hmm.. another familiar nick 8) ),
anyway, hw many kitten/cats at home. If one, then he/she muz b bored n therefore sleeping is the most desirable activity but it is practically fine for a cat that long. Anyway, if u notice that a kitten/cat won't sleep straight entirely but occasionally taking naps. as long as the kitten is eating, drinking, peeing n pooing fine, practically shud b ok. n most of all, play with the kitten as well... |

On average, cats sleep about 13 - 18 hours a day, which equates to about two-thirds of their life. In fact, cats get more sleep than virtually any other animal, about twice as much as most mammals. Thus, sleeping is simply a normal behavior for cats. Just how much a particular cat will sleep, however, can depend upon many factors, including their age, their degree of hunger, their sense of security, the temperature and the weather. |

Yes, cats do sleep a lot. But what is "normal" for one cat, might not be normal for another.
You have to know what is normal for your cat. Only then can you detect behaviour changes, such as sleeping more than usual, being inctive, easily fatigue, lethargic, etc.
If there is a sudden behaviour change, please consult your vet. |

yes, i do agree w Dr. Nat. Usually a cat wud sleeps when the weather is too cold or too hot, after a full meal n after play time. shud u notice ur cat sleeps constantly n did not want to eat or drink or play, it is a sign that ur cat is unwell. ur trusted vet u muz go... |
