i read this articles by Jennifer Too interview by Sharon Kam :
"Are animals or pets important for a person's well-being?
Well, pets make very good energisers for the home. Dogs especially, they are very lively, they bring yang energy into the home, so especially when you can't be at home all day, it is good to have a dog there to make sure their energy never stagnates. From a feng shui point of view, it is important for children to grow up with pets so they learn to care for another being, that is how they learn to love when they care for their own pet. So dogs are probably the best pets to keep. Horses as well. "
you love your doggie... in return they bring u good feng shui...  |

There are millions of people who do not have pets and have great "well-being". So to say it is important for a person's well being might be exaggerating a little. However, it is undeniable that animals have a great positive effect on people. It doesn't really matter what kind of animal (except maybe scary or percieved dirty ones) but when you walk into a hospital or retirement home with your pet, it could be the highlight of the day for the inhabitants.
It is funny that even if you treat your kids well, they may or may not love you unconditionally (of course most do). But dogs, if you are looking for unconditional, all encompasing, ever lasting love; just love them a little and they will return your many times over. I can't really say the same for horses though.... Which bring me to my question....
why do you say dogs and horses are the best pets to keep? Dogs I can understand, but horses? Don't get me wrong, I love horses. In fact, I live in a horse breeding farm and I work with them alot. However, horses don't return your love nearly as much as you love them (usually) and they can hardly snuggle up against you in your bed. But for purposes of teaching children about taking care of an animal, it might be okay. Don't underestimate the potential for horses to hurt a child or even an adult so if you want to use horses to teach them this lesson of how to take care of animals, just make sure they are taught the basics of what to do and what not to do around and to a horse. If you think taking care of dogs is alot of work, taking care of a horse is ALOT of work. If you think about it... maybe a hamster might be better. |

I never knew or understood feng shui but pets do give unconditional love. They do not say eff you when u beat em or scream at em.. At most the come back wagging their tail at you well as soon as u call them by their name again ( hehe cats i cant say much cos they own u anyway, they bite whenever they wish and we dont even mind a bit even if they do ) Imagine screaming at a human being be it young or old see what happens. :P
