Anyone knows about other websites setup by the vet students? I'm just curious... animals_017.gif

doBot's and Kwok's websites are very good. They are the tech savvy vet generation. Good work!

Nice! I join IVSA last time when I was a DVM student. Been to Thailand for months for practical training in the cattle and pig farms. Unforgettable, very exciting experience. IVSA rocks!

Quote: Join The Fossil Club!
Dear “old” vet student!

Now that you have graduated or are about to graduate, the Exco and I would like to invite you to become a Supportive Member of the IVSA. Although Supportive Members have always existed, a plan is currently being devised to bring together these members in a more formal manner. Essentially, an IVSA alumni organization, “The Fossil Club” is being created, for those of us who have been involved with the IVSA as students and now wish to continue to take part in our association.

The Fossils will form a separate group for the purpose of professional support and the exchange of veterinary ideas as well as supporting IVSA projects. A Scholarship Fund has been set up to allow financially disadvantaged students to participate in exchanges and the membership fees from Supportive Members will contribute to this fund.

Supportive Members will receive:

Each issue of the International Veterinary Student journal
The IVSA electronic Newsletter, which will be sent out every 2 months
A forum for the professional discussion through mailing list and on www.ivsa.org
Retaining friendships formed through IVSA
Attend IVSA events as well as our own Fossil events
Assist in exchange programs by forming a network of veterinarians around the world willing to host students
The knowledge that your membership fee is helping disadvantaged students participate in exchanges.

I look forward to your continued association with the IVSA.

Yours sincerely,

Elke Abbeloos

Fossil Club Coordinator

http://vetstudents.net/home.html is the premier location for everything to do with being a vet student, with the emphasis on being a vet student abroad. It is made by vet students for vet students and is designed to accept contributions from vet students and others all over the world. Everyone can create an account and the more information contributed, the more useful this site will be for everyone.

It is just getting up and running and has foreign AVMA accredited schools right now. Depending on the feedback I get, I will try and eventually include all foreign schools.

This site includes:

* Where To Study - complete guide to the best places to study abroad
* Study Info - everything you need as a vet student in one place
* News - the latest vet news from around the world
* Discussion - a meeting place to discuss vet issues
* Blogs - a place for students to tell their stories
* Student Pages-for those of you who already have pages or want to create your own page
* Photos - a range of photos for use in presentations as well as photos of fellow vet students and their animals
* Postcards - send cute animal postcards to friends and family

Enjoy and let me know if there's anything else you would like to see here.

Your friendly webmaster,

Christina

Its url is http://www.kashvet.org this site has loads of educational material for the vet student...
You can order free CD's if you are still studying..
You can download books on veterinary subjects...
You can have software and learning material for palm tops and mobiles in its forums..
It has a decent journal....(though of Asian research)
It has other resources including for farmers and pet owners..
