Anyone here interested in bicycle? Road riding, offroad, extreme riding, downhill....
Suddenly I get this desire to go back to cycling. I used to cycling to school. Never really do any serious riding before. I am planning to buy an mountain bike, entry level. Looking at the price of the bike, I got a shock of my life. Entry level for a not famous brand can cost around RM1300-1800. Plus all the equipment    .
Anyway, a few of us are developing interest in this. Just looking for more people of similar interest. We are planning to have a vet bicycle team. Train up, may be do some off road in the future or join some competition. Any potential cyclist or experienced cyclist here

Woah... nice toys. Made me hypersalivate for one.
Used to cycle to fac during 2nd and 3rd year until idiots decided to steal 2 of my bikes! WARGHHH... The HOROR!!
First was a 2nd hand, cost me only RM60, but worth more than that la. Served me very well until it got stolen at Old Flat. Second bike has beautiful gear grips, I could climb up the hill going to Bukit Xpo and ride it around on very gruelling routes. And it was stolen in front of faculty of all places! WAHHHHRHHHHH!!! Sniff~ Sniff~ |

Not yet buy any lah. Still shopping around.
This is what our target will be. But first have to practice on the road first to gain stamina, strength and skills.
Then, this. Nah. I don't think we will ever try this.

We just got 3 bike from JooNgan Son's shop in Damansara Uptown. Mine is Trek 4300. Cost me a bomb. Got to eat maggee for a long time. Been riding for a few days. Got groin pain now.
We went to KSH, the bike there are very high range, at RM3k to RM20k++. But the people there are very nice and polite. Went to 2 shops in Tmn MEgah as well. Got attracted by the Merida range and Giant Iguana. But no money. Surprisingly, all the bike shop I went, they are all very polite and approachable.
Got other thing to buy now. Helmet, camelpak, gloves, shades, tools, bicycle pumps... But need to save money and wait for next few months salary. |

From horse power to paddle power. Al Gore will be proud of us! Have not hop on a bicycle for over 10 years and when i did it was like i never left cycling, all the joy and sense of freedom returned. I guess it is true what they say when you learn to cycle, u don forget. As vranus said, there is still lots to get before we start getting into serious off road stuff. Not to mention we need to get overall fitness up.
A name for the group have been proposed (2 wheels 4 paws :P :P). |

When I was a kid, I love to ride my bicycle. Now, I'm just afraid to have a ride coz somehow dogs always like to chase me when I'm riding my bicycle.
Know any dogs-willn't-chase-you bicycle :D |

| Thats crappy :( , just ignore them most of the time it will be ok. I was jogging late one night when a large black dog (looks like a lab or somthing) chased me from behind. Just stop and he would lose interest fairly quickly. I sometimes shout and run towards the offending dogs at top speed waving my arms, most of the time they would turn and run (one may look like a loony id eot so be carefull when you do that or u may end up in U-tube). Most dogs bark are a lot worst then their bite. So dont worry and pick up a bike and paddle away. |

yeah, i know it's sounds crappy but this happens almost everytime when I encounter dogs during my cycling! I guess they can sense my fear, my panic as I become panic very quickly (luckily I don't have heart attack, hehe..) I think one more way to make me feel not panic whenever I see a dog is try to find someone to accompany me. anyway, I better just cycle at my home's street - short length but make me feel safe, :D
sorry if I sounds like a dog-phobia as I'm a dog-phobia! |

Some dogs are just so ferrocios. Even on my aprilia, I got chase by stray dogs. Even snap by them on my boots. Luckily on the way to Sepang, full body armour. Turn around and chase the dog.
Anyway, this is exactly the model I bought, 06 though

OK, day 4 on the bike, I take back the statement that I felt that i never left cycling, My butt hurts like heck. I think i go play badminton tonite rather then subjuct my rear end to such punishment.
When i was a kid, there was this mad dog that would chase me an my bro when we cycled. I had many good times waiting for the dog to chase and try to out run that dog on my bike. Just love the rush. There was this one time when the dog kept pase for about 15 min on full speed and by the end i could not go anymore and had to stop. And when i stop, he turned and walked home....i guess he loved the rush too. I wonder what ever happen to that mutt. |

| I think so. I took the 18 " bike. Feel very comfortable. Full stride down my leg can be almost straight. Whereas when I try my friend's 17.5", I felt a bit cramp and my legs felt like restricted in movement. I did ask about bigger bike but the shop owner strong discourage that and insisted me to take the 18. |

I'm just 5 ft 2, so what kind of bicycle you suggest me to ride on? I don't think I can use that model that varanus has shown to us, looks big!
Here, there's someone who's moving to other company branch and he/she is selling a LeRun (dunno if it's the right spelling, haha) bicycle. Never been used and it cost RM50!! Maybe that person just desperate to sell the bicycle, hehe... I'm just hoping the western ppl going to sell their bicycles (here lots of Scots, Netherlands, Americans, etc) coz theirs are sooooo cool!!! |
