Summary of games being offered on the day:

K9 X-GAMES
The K9 X-games are open to all dogs and each event comes with 3 prizes which are up for grabs, courtesy of Happy Dog. Best of all, there are no entrance fees and you and your dog can get stuck into as many events as you wish.

So bring along your K9 party tricks and gear as we celebrate in the natural abilities and prowess of our furry friends. Absolutely no restrictions as to amount of toys or treats you can bring onto the field on the day, in order to induce your dog’s best performance.

1. Top Dog Model - For dogs who just love dressing up. We are looking for the 3 most spiffy, smart and fashionably dressed pooches on the day. Anything goes as long as your dog looks good in attire, so be creative. Remember, we are looking for fashionable K9s and not fashion victims.
• Dress code: fashionable, stylish, trendy, in vogue.
• Models are to walk straight out, do a pirouette and walk back in.

2. Total Recall - Designed for the OB dogs with a twist on the recall. Participating dogs should be friendly and reliable off leash.
• 2 handlers required for each dog: 1st handler to heel the dog to the other end of the field and 2nd handler to recall the dog back to the starting line.
• Upon judge’s signal, 1st handler will heel dog to the other end of the field, drop the leash and sit the dog, whilst facing away from the starting line. Once dog is in sit position and facing away, 2nd handler can then attempt to recall the dog. 1st handler may prompt the dog but cannot handle the dog.
• 8 dogs will be running in each heat and top 2 dogs from thereon will qualify for the finals.
• Race will only count as finished when dog is in 2nd handler’s arms.

Swiftest 3 dogs to response and run into their owners’ arms are the Total Recall dogs. Should more then 1 dog run up to you at the finish line, you will also be in contention for the ‘Most Likeable Human’ award.

3. The Long Jumper - The long jump record is at stake and we are looking for the top 3 K9s who can leap the furthest distance over a row of broad jumps.
• 2 attempts allowed at each length and broad jumps will be added upon each successful leap.
• Dogs must jump cleanly over hurdles without stepping on them.

As added motivation, owners can also choose to jump over the hurdle with their dogs but no further points will be awarded for this valiant effort.

4. Top Trick Dog - All dogs should know at least 1 party trick and this is the time and place to show it. Dogs with simple or nifty moves have up to 30 seconds to strut their stuff. Best 3 crowd pleasing tricks will be declared winners.
