As I understand, Veterinary Science is one part of the veterinary syllabus, i.e. parasitology, virology, etc. That is why Master in Veterinary Science can be offered to non-vet students. Veterinary Medicine is the whole discipine of veterinary syllabus. Those who take Veterinary Medicine can come out to practice.
Then again, it also depends on the vet schools. For example, there are universities offering Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc) in which after graduating, you can also practice.
If you're confused about the different titles, the common degrees offered by vet schools are DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) and BVSc. Both are basically the same, and allows you to practice.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. |
