Is it ok for a vet having a cat allergy? Even a mild one? And the symptoms doesn't bother me much usually when I'm doing some work (usually appears like I'm having a slight fever) and fortunately it only appears 3 to 4 hours whenever I didn't wash my hands or change my clothes.
The problem is... I'm going for DVM in this year. So, should I just took other courses :c or going for Vet because I really want to be a Vet. |

Congrats for entering DVM. If u REALLY want to be a vet, a small allergy will not be enough to stop you.

As a vet you don't only deal with cats. You see chicken, duck, cow, horse, pig, goat... not just cat...

I can tell you this fact that I have asthma since young. It's a matter of how you take care of yourself. I have also colleagues who have asthma and allergy to cats, but they all are still doing the job they think they are happiest with.

But should I get myself some allergic meds? I know they would make me sleepy but would it be a necessity for just-in-case situations?

It depends how drastic your allergic reaction is... I think in some cases, it can be managed without meds... Consult your doc for this if necessary...
