I would like to know why my 2 male rabbits started to fight at a certain time in a day. They both just mature few weeks, at first they start to chase each other's bottom and tried to hop on each other's back to have sex. But after a while, then they started to fight very vigorously. And i was bitten while i attempt to put the fight out. Today is the second day they started to fight again at the same time as the first time yesterday. After i separated them for few hours, and put them back, there are back to normal buddies again. They never fight before only started yesterday Please help, what should i do? Thanks very much.

That's what happen when you put 2 male rabbit together. When they fight, if you are lucky, you can see the rabbit's mouth full of other rabbit's fur. In bad days, you can even see the rabbit have a rupture scrotum, testicle dangling from the body. That what happen to my labbit. Had to do surgery.

Rabbits can be quite territorial and aggressive, especially for males - unneutered males that is. Your rabbits are just about mature, and the hormones are taking over.

Yup, Ouch. Only guys will understand what sort of pain the rabbit gone through. No word can be used to describe the pain.

I tend to agree with you that male rabbit, castrated one is more affectionate. My rabbit could came to me and licked me so that I could stroke his head. While my females are more unpredictable. I couldn't walk at her vicinity while she was having baby. Walked one step, she attacked my feet one time. But generally they were ok.

Come to think of it, Varanus's Labbit was a male and behaves better then my cat (Bento-potato). That rabbit gets along well with most of my dogs. If i remember corectly, that rabbit steals junk food from time to time and begs for food like a dog. Never liked me much though. had to bribe that sucker from time to time. Darn wabbit with attitude problem.

P/S I MUST STATE THAT I AM IN NO WAY TELLING PPL THAT IT IS OK TO FEED RABBITS JUNK!!!

Maybe not use to human's touch.... u might need to tame them for a while.

i have caring for them for already about more then 2 months. Is it that before they mature, they both stay in the same cage and so they have companion until they ignore human touch? Now that they are separate cage, they now a bit scare sometimes because their alone now?

To get tame pets, they have to get used to human touch from a very young age - it is called socialisation. Or else, they might develop fear instead, and then will be extremely hard to tame - some of them will almost never be tamed. Some of them can develop the fear later through abuse by people.

If they begin fighting between themselves, then you have no choice but to seperate them - or get a bigger cage, where one of them have a place to hide and run away from the aggressor. Its better for them to be alone, than to keep on fighting.

One of the ways to tame them, is through patience. Offer them nice bits of treat and say gentle words to them. Rabbits seldom like sudden movements or loud noises. They treat their cage as their 'home', and you should keep it that way. That means, each time they retreat into their cage, do not put your hand in to try to reach them. Let them feel safe in their cage. Instead, wait for them to come to you. This is where your patience comes in.

Good luck.
