Well, females live in pairs... 3 are the most. Currently I'm doing a breeding programme with others... we already got to breed colours like Pink Eyed White, Dark Eyed Honey, Argente Creams, Nutmeg, Dove, Lilac... We also got the spotted, and patched variety as well. We also got the usual black and agoutis.

Now I'm trying to get Yellow fox and Red fox hahaha... not all these colours can be found at petshops.

Need quite a number of tanks. I have a male colony tank, houses about 5 males in a 2ft plastic tank. Then I got 2 breeding tanks the size of 1.5ft. There is also a female tank of 4 females(mother and daughters).

I also got temporary tanks that are about 1ft, coz now waiting to get 1.5ft tanks for my gerbs... so how many tanks I have now? Hmmm.... 9 loh.

I'll try and get some photos of my tanks later heheheh... my tanks are actually pretty simple lah, just a large plastic tank, lots of wood shavings and hay for them to dig. Some hard cardboard tubes, a wooden house and a bottle.

Yups, Cedric is a full white gerbil. He is a pink eyed white gerbil. I do have white gerbils once a while heheheh...

You got lovely gerbils. Yups, Macy is an Agouti while Gertie is a collared or patched agouti. Very nice full collar. Where did you get her? Pets Wonderland?

Dr Nat
Ai, lots of pets but I can say around 50... some are exotic like tarantulas so they don't need much attention. The pets that needs constant attention are my mammal pets. Thank goodness my family shares the workload with me or I won't be able to keep up with so many. Love all of them dearly.

Gerbils can recognize their owners but they do not answer their names like dogs and cats. They generally see you as their food supplier and also their play mate. Handling them daily is a good way to bond gerbils. They are very active and social creatures, do not bite at all unless you mistreat them or your hands smell like food.
