Is it true the rabbies vaccination cannot be done in Malaysia as there's no place for that. I have a problem with my domestic in KL, I wanted to export it to sarawak. nd my handler in KL told me it can only be done in Australia or England and the cost for equipments to courier the blod to those countries is very expensive.
Anyone who has gone thru this procedure, please advice me on this.
I really miss my cat |

Rabies vaccinations can be done in KL. The titre tests can't - we have to send that our to either Japan, Australia or the US and iit takes about two weeks to get a result for the titre tests.
I would suggest you go the the DVS in Cheras to get a clearer picture. I do know that there is quarantine required for a cat from Peninsular to Sarawak but I'm not sure how long. |

Better check it properly. If I'm not mistaken, you need import permit and export permit. Get your document done properly like vaccination record, health record and rabies antibody titer. If not, your cat will be stranded in the quarantine until they get the blood result.
A lot of clinic has rabies vaccine. But antibody titer has to be done oversea. Depending on the destination, normally they have appointed lab or their panel lab. For Sarawak, I think you can send the sample to Thailand. If you are talking about Japan, they will not recognise the result. Only 2 places are approved for their standard, one in UK and one in Australia, if I'm not mistaken.
Check with DVS, very important. You might have big headache if you do not have enough documents. |
