Hi Docs,
I've heard that giving your sick cat extra buffered or slow release Vit C is good for them...true? If so, how much should you give? Is there a specific formula of Vit C to weight?
Thanks! |

| From what ive learnt vitamin C mostly help with preventing stones in the kidney as it makes the urine more acidy. Cats however are able to synthesize their own source of vitamin C. Since Vitamin C is water soluble, it is relatively save to administrator supplements. Less than 100mg per day is advisable. |

As far as I know, vit C is a good anti-oxidant. People has claimed that vit C is good for their pets, but I personally have not used them, so I cant really make any comments on it. But I don't see any harm in giving them the vit C. If you do try it out, do share with us the results! :)
Some people have used up to 1500mg per dog. But I'm not sure what is the dosage for cats.
p.s. sorry for the delay in this reply, I missed it initially. |
