Hi.....

My cats are going into quarantine from dubai in a few days and i would like to know what kind of things would cause quarantine to be longer than a week.

My mother in-laws friends dog was there for a week.... but some one who works in the same company as us, their cats were there for a month.

Can anyone tell me what causes the variation?

I'm a little concerned because on and off one of my cats has eye trouble. We've had her treated at the vet here with drops.... and the vet has assured us that it is not something we need to worry about but i am still worried. If it starts up in quarantine will that be an issue?

All their vaccinations are up to date and they are other wise healthy.

Does any know?
I'd really appreaciate a reply .... I'm leaving at 3am on the 27th so i odn't have much time.

I've been searching around for the answer on the internet and i called the vet services dept but they couldn't tell me either

It depends on where your cats are from, and where they have travelled to. If all goes well, and the cats are healthy throughout the quarantine period, then they should not be quarantined for more than the required period.

However, any of your cats fall sick, or is showing any symptoms of diseases, then they will be quarantined longer.

If otherwise, I do not know the reason for the variation. Only the vet services department have the authority to set the quarantine period.
