I notice if you can talk beautifully, you can change a great deal of things.. my clinic senior vets can talk so magically even the animal dies aslo the client will say thank you to them..

No matter what job you do .. have to put up bit of show . though not without some brains

Just say, "everybody lies".
But animal can't lie, they can't even talk.

I have met nice Doctors around. Yeah they looked pretty tired at times but I am still amazed at how they treat animals like little children. They sweet talk to them so that the animals wont feel scared. Talk about a 7 to 7 job..

Here in Kuching if u go to the clinic in the evening, There is only 1 vet in there and 3 rooms..So she/he has to basically move from room to room treating the animals. I think they'd rather talk to the animals that human after a long day's work.. Animals lov u back no matter how many times u stick u fingers in their butt.

It aint easy being a Vet. I wanted to be 1 but I was lazy to study when I was younger LOL

The contents in this post reminded me of a series of story books by vet writer James Herriot. Believe me, I learned a lot of vet jargons and also strange Scottish accents.

actually, i think it's really stressful to be a vet in major cities. back here in sandakan, what i see vets do here in this small small town was majorly u know, like paksa d animals swallow the medi and give d injections and minor minor things. and the clinic closes at 5:30 pm like that...

once my classmates and i had this biology experiment in class where we have to open up the bodies of LIVE birds and white rats to see the heartbeat of the animals. i was like, howling coz everyone was trying to kill the animals with chloroform (actually we're supposed to knock them out to study how the organs function and such, but some people juz overdone it). and the rats were so fierce and snarled in anyway to defend themselves. my teammate got bitten by a really fierce one.

that moment i thought, it's really cruel to use animals as biological experiments. i juz wanna stop there and then and get the animals out and let them go. it's juz so unfair for these little creatures. anyway, the experiment went on and i was going "tsk... tsk tsk... " as i opened up the bird's and rat's body coz no one in my team was willing to cut up the bodies (the rat was dead coz my teammate forced it to sniff chloroform for too long... which is better coz i dun think i'll stand to look at a heart beating. after the rat, we picked a dead bird to operate on).

the experiment went for two whole hours and by the end of the experiment, there was one live bird and one live rat. we juz decided to let them go. at the moment, we all felt that they were really lucky to escape the cruel execution.

i'm rather impressed that some of the vets are able to operate on their own pets to see what's wrong in there. i dun think i'm able to do it. if i'm really lucky to be a vet and my pet's got something wrong, i'll get another vet who i'm close with to operate on it.

Too much emotions will make one lousy vet. sometimes you are force to see an animal as a case and not a life. In most situations it is safer for both the vet and the patient when things are viewed that way. When emotions are involved it gets harder to be objective. That's why when my dog Taggie was sick, i turned to other vets for help and advice coz i know my emotions have rendered my brain useless. An emotional vet is a bloody dangerous vet.
