Shove It is 4month old male DSH. I love him so much.. he's been sick..since..i dont know..

Shove It actually a stray cat.I've picked him up because i felt symphaty. He's only about 2 months old that time. Then we feed him and take care of him untill now..
The first time we sent Shove It to vet it is because we suspect he got diarhoea. Then the dr. gave him medicine and antibiotic. after a week we realise that Shove It's body temperature is high and its always like that..every day..untill now..so we sent him to vet because there is one day when myhousemate accidently throw a small ball directly to Shove It's left eye.The next morning, we saw a ball of blood in his eyes.We so scared and sent him to vet immediately. The Dr. said that it could be pressure from inside the eye. And the Dr. give him an eye cream as well as interferon to reduce the body temperature. After a week, his eye getting better but his lumps getting bigger.his body temperature also didnt get any lower..And there is one day that I found that his lumps is soo big it almost cover the whole neck (Shove It's ear pointed down)..but its only for one day..the next day..the lumps shrink back..but it still consider big. He always look like he is weak..but he maintain eat like normal. It so hard to understand because sumtimes after I gave him the medicine..he will become active and play around with another kittiy but most of his time he will be weak and only asking for food...hurm...

I dont know la...

right now..Shove It have been "poo" alot..I dont know y..he still have the same diet.and he's poop have blood on it. And his lump still not normal..

please help me..figure out how can I make my baby healty~

Shove It? What a name ;)

Have you told your vet about the lumps and the blood in its poo? It does sound really serious, and bringing it to a vet is probably the best advice I could give through the net.

You mentioned that its temperature is high? How high? Do you know that a cat's normal temperature is higher than ours. That is why, when holding a cat, it feels warmer than us. It can feel like a fever, but it might just be its normal temperature.

ooh, no wonder it feels really good to hug a cat when it's so cold, cats are sooo warm compare to human, hehehe... Especially when the cat's furs sort of looks much longer than usual.

My vet told me one way to see if the cat is sick or not. She said try to pinch the skin (in neck area) and pull the skin around. If the skin return to it normal state very slowly, that means the cat is sick. I dunno if I have done it correctly or not.

ya lor... that's what my vet told me last time.
should my cats become passive and refuse to
eat nor drink, then this skin thing will tell either
she's dehydrated or not. means if the skin somehow
return to its place quite slow than its suppose to, then
u should know that ur cat is not well. so, its kinda
good thing to at least have the idea whether ur cat is healthy or not.

Being dehydrated is usually a later symptom, when the condition become worse. Pinching the skin would tell if they're dehydrated, but you must know what normal would look like. Sometimes, even 1-2 seconds late and it would mean that the cat is dehydrated.

One of the best way to tell if the cat is sick or not is to see its behaviour. Any abnormal behaviour or inappetance is usually the first sign that the cat is sick. If it doesn't eat or drink for a few days, then only will it get dehydrated.

if the cat is dehydrated, should we help the cat to drink the water? Or do we have to bring the cat to vet and the vet will do something like inserting drip or something?
Once my cats - mother cat, 3 kittens, one big male cat - had a bad flu. The vet said the cats should drink water and gave medications for our cats. One of my cats, the male cat, seemed don't have enough strength to drink the water itself. I tried to help him but the water just didn't get inside. Like the cat couldn't even swallow the water. The next day, I saw him died beside his bowl of water. It was my worst day of my life as he was the first cat died of flu. Then one by one died except the mother cat. Actually, one of the kittens just dissapear and appeared back one day as grown-up cat. Weird, eh.

You could force-feed it some water. Usually, like you said, they will be too weak to drink water by themselves. However, even forcing it to drink water is usually never sufficient to counter the dehydration. It will need a drip.

How did you know it was the same cat?

it's the owner's instinct, hehehe..
actually, it was my father. he said the cat looks just like the one we lost. and as my father's eyes are quite good in noticing things, maybe he's right. and, besides, we usually see what's our mother cat's reaction. she usually don't accept other cats except her family. and she accepts the cat, so we thought must be one of her lost kittens. our cats sometimes run away to our neighbour house (in front of our house) when lots of threats from male cats that we don't own.

In all likelyhood, the cat is probably a half-sibling of the dissapeared one. The father is still out there fathering more and more cats (and half would look like the lost one).. hehe..

ah, Dr Nat, u should pretend to accept my theory. At least, I will stay happy to know my lost cat finally back to us, hehehe.... hmm, a half sibling or not, the mother cat seemed to recognize him at the first night he appeared. she rubbed her body with the cat, like she used to do with her family. from that, we (my father and I) thought the cat must be one of our long-lost cat or kittens. well, we always lost our cats, especially male, as they got threathen by other bigger male cats. u know, the persians and orange cat. (well, maybe domestic long-hair cats, like aby said, hehehe...)
