Doc,
semalam kucing saya mati..tepat pukul 7 mlm, sedih tak terkira, mati depan mata saya pulak tu..

kisahnya macam ni, pg semalam saya nampak dia makan tikus. Kucing saya ni mmg biasa makan binatang yg dia tangkap, cicak, sesumpah dan tikus. Tgh ari tu saya perasan dia tinggalkan muntah dia atas lantai, (muntah ni semuanya isi kandungan tikus tuh) tapi saya tgk dia ok jer lps muntah. Then bile petang dalam pukul 4 tetiba dia mengiau2 dan turun dari tangga. Saya tgk mulut dia berbuih, air liur meleleh2 jadi buih.

Dulu penah sekali dia jadi mcm ni. Saya bwk klinik, doc tu kata dia keracunan psl makan binatang. Doc tu suruh bg minum susu jer. Saya sedikit ralat sbb saya tak bg dia susu smlm. Mcm mana boleh tak teringat lansung ntah la..ape boleh buat...

Tapi kejadian mulut dia berbuih semalam tu lg teruk dr yg sebelum nih. Pukul 6 saya sedar dia semacam kejang. Dia mengeliat , anak mata tertarik ke atas. Badan dia mengeras. Otot dia macam menarik, sesekali dia ggt lidah dia. Macam kena sawan kot. Badan dia sejuk, saya tak tahu nak buat ape, just tuam badan dia dgn botol yg isi air suam. 30 minit jugak dia keadaan mcm tu, sekejap2 dia megeliat mcm kekejangan...saya dah rasa kucing saya takde harapan dah... :cry:

Then tepat pukul 7 mlm, tiba2 dia mengeliat lama, trs mati. Masa dia dalam keadaan kejang2 tu mata dia bulat membesar, mata hitam dia pun jadi bulat penuh, mata dia terjegil, saya tekan mata tu rasa sejuk dan keras. Dah lama2 sket saya perhati mata dia kebiru-biruan.

Kenapa kucing saya macam tu doc? Keracunan ker? sepatutnya dalam keadaan mcm tu ape saya harus buat. Nak pegi klinik haiwan pun semalam cuti merdeka, mst tutup...

Harap doc boleh cerita sikit. Thanx a lot..

Nampaknya kucing anda terkena racun. Kadang-kala kucing boleh terkena racun bila makan tikus yang telah makan racun tikus. Tapi, ada banyak lagi jenis racun yang boleh dia kena. Beberapa jenis racun memang ada "antidote"nya dan boleh dineutralkan.

Biasanya, bila termakan racun, tanda yang pertama akan dilihat adalah muntah. Kadang-kala cirit juga ada.

Racun itu ada effect pada otaknya. Oleh itu, anda lihat dia dalam keadaan kejang dan terkena sawan. Tanda-tanda lain jika racun terkena pada otak adalah seperti: tidak boleh berjalan terus (incoordination), lemah kaki, anak mata terbuka besar (pupils dilated), kejang, mudah terkejut, tidak ada reaksi jika dipanggil/disentuh, koma, etc. Apabila racun sudak kena pada otak, biasanya ianya sudah dalam peringkat yang teruk. Dalam peringkat ini, bila bawa ke klinik pun tidak semestinya boleh disembuh.

Jika dalam keadaan seperti itu, ianya adalah kes "emergency". Jika nampak dia muntah banyak, dan ada buih di mulutnya, bawalah ke klinik dengan segera. Jika diberi rawatan yang awal, kucing it mungkin boleh diselamatkan. Lebih baik kalau ada simpan no tel dan alamat klinik yang ada memberi rawatan emergency 24 jam. Mana tau bila diperlukan lagi.

kesian awak ya. Next ime bila kita ada haiwan peliharaan kita kena jaga macam baby..tgk dia makan apa..minum apa. Sabar yer. Hayad kalau nak kucing ambik kat saya free jer..tapi dah besar. semuanya friendly.

saya dulu ada kucing yang suka tidur atas baja pokok. Satu hari perangai dia pelik-pelik, garang semacam je. Then, esoknua, terjumpa dia mati kat dalam longkang. So, ingatkan maybe dia termakan baja tu, sedih giler la time tu.

Tapi, ada seekor kucing saya yang lain bergaduh ngan kucing jiran and dia pun dapat simpton cam kucing yang mati tu. Kucing tu pun garang semacam je. Tapi, syukurnya kucing tu tak la mati, dia pulih semula.

Kucing boleh dapat penyakit serius dari pergaduhan dengan kucing lain ke?

Cats can get many different infectious diseases through scratches or even minor wounds inflicted by the sharp nails of cats. Vaccination is one way of preventing some of those disease from spreading. Another way is to prevent or lessen the cat fights - for example, by not letting it go out or by neutering the cats.

If a cat exhibit a sudden change in behaviour, it can be a sign of some illness. Even sudden aggression can be a sign.

how does neutering cat can prevent the cat from cat fights?

Well, one of the reasons why male cat fight, is because they are territorial and also, want to woo a female lah. So, if you neuter them, then you remove the instinct to fight over females or to roam around. Hence, less fights.

The neighbour male cats always come to our house and attack our male cats. If I neuter my male cats and have less fight instict, isn't that means they probably get more injuries? I mean, as they have less fight instict, that means the neighbour male cats can easily bully them, right?

Oh, one more thing, the neighbour cats are persian cats and one big local orange cat. Dunno why those cats are such bad bullies. And for me, everytime my neighbour has a new orange cat, that orange cat always be the bully. Other colours are seldom have fights at my house area.

I find orange cats are really good with people though.. but my orange cat also cant get along with the rest. Hmm...

Anyway, if you neuter your male cat, then the other male cats will not find him as a "threat" (to steal their girlfriends away). That's why he'll become less of a target. I'm not saying it will stop suddenly, but its less likely that they'll go into fights.

Dear Hyad,
I'm sorry to hear your cat crossed the Rainbow Bridge. The special bond and love for your cat I'm sure he knows. Sometimes though the hardest thing that we have to do is to save those we love from further pain. Only time will heal the pain you going thru now. Take it easy and take care yourself ya.

Below there is a special poem written long ago (author unknown) that tells of a special place where our beloved four legged friends go after they pass. The place is called The Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. oh, i see. and, if I neuter my male cats, they will mostly stay at home and not wandering around like they used to, right? if only i can catch the persian cats and the orange cat coz other than terrorize my cats, they also the worst nightmare for other cats in the neighbourhood!

yeah, orange cats seems really good with ppl but with their own species... maybe they are like redheads, ppl always said readheads have the worst temper, heheheh....
