A lot of clinics have boarding facilities. Call up your vet to find out. Other than that, you could ask around, especially in pet shops cos they might know someone.
However, my advise is to check out the hotel first before you send your loved ones there. Make sure you are satisfied with their services, have clean and hygenic facilities, know what to do incase something gone awry, and basically have personnel that cares. :) |

dear vivonne,
u must first understand that in the world nothing much is cheep and good. remember that if u want good service one would have to pay for it. one of the draw back of having so many dogs is if u travel. i have 4 and i would hang myself first b4 i allow them to be borded anywhere. with dogs comes responsibility beyond time and money but sacrifice as well. when my grannie died i did not go home to sarawak coz i could not leave my dogs. needless to say it brought about a condamation from both my parents. my responce was that the dead is alredy having a gala time up there, it is the lieving that needs me nw. while i think i myself m a little extream, but i am sure yu get my point. what i can say for u is that u are a very lucky person. having ppl helping u out is lots beter then puting them in a cage. also rem that most pet centeres have pet bording and not pet hotels. normaly bording just provide food an encloser (cage or kennel) and the usual walks. some places provide more. but that is more or less what u will get in an avrage pet centere. due to space constraints dont expect ur dog to b in a big area, those that have large kennels may have to charge more. we r now back to the main point that if u wnat good service we got to pay for it. somtimes it cost an arm and a leg.
another thing. if u place ur dog in a 5 star hotel, u think ur dog knows it is a 5 star hotel? ur dog would happly lieve in a rubbish dump if u were with them. they are pack animals, and u are the alpha dog. to seperate them would bring about quite a bit of stress. so finally, do u really want more dogs?
i dont mean to say that u should not travel or that u have too many dogs, but just to remind u that dogs dont just need food, health care etc. but also ur time and love. if they dont have enough they will have to fight other dogs in the house for it. anyway have a good trip and take care.
i must say though, ur dogs are truly lucky. |

Actually, getting someone to "babysit" your dogs is probably better than putting them up for boarding. Its best if the babysitter or dogsitter is someone that your dogs are familiar with. That way, there is less stress when you suddenly dissapear from their lives. Otherwise, you could gradually introduce your dog to the potential dogsitter, and see if they can get along.
Another thing you need to note if you're leaving your dog with a dogsitter that has other dogs, is see if your dogs and their dogs can get along. Also, make sure the vaccinations are up to date (and the sitter's dogs too!). And give your vet's contact and number to the dogsitter, incase there's any emergencies. Your vet is the one with all your dog's records, so will be the best person to see them (rather than a new vet). |

Hi ViVonne,
It is not a very wise decision to send your 3 months old pup to a pet shop / vet for boarding. Puppies need extra care. Hence, it would be better to get someone you know who is familiar with your pup (as mentioned by Dr. Nat earlier) "to babysit" your pup. |
