its so difficult to find a vet for gerbils, any idea where??
my firned bring her gerbil to a vet, the vet treat it like hamster, tot they will bite, want to use a glove, that stress the gerbil out. poor fela.
thinking is there a good place to go?? |

| Even though seldom, gerbils may bite. And I'll still recommend UVH in UPM to be the best place when you have no idea of which vets can take your cases. |

| i found sometime this small animal don't died from the sickness, but get shock or stress when they smell new smell from others.. n died :( poor thing, but if go vet of others ppl for help, sure the other person will handle it, not the owner.. wat can be done to reduce the stress? |

I don't think they are such vulnerable to stress that a different than usual odour will kill them.
However, you may reduce the "stress factors" in few ways. Try not to let them overeat before the transport to the vet, may be you can withdraw food 2 to 4 hours before the trip. Make sure that they are properly hydrated (drink enough) unless dehydration itself is the reason for the trip. Try to get a vet nearby, short distance trip. Carry them in a proper cage and you may cover the cage with a towel. Help the vet in handling and calming down the animals if they are really used to you. When during whatever procedures, do it quick and in the right way. |
